Handshake, a leading resource for college students, can assist you in finding internship and job opportunities. It connects accomplished, creative students and alumni with top employers looking to hire IUPUI students for professional opportunities. You can also receive personalized recommendations and participate in virtual fairs and events.
Begin by registering or logging in as a current student or an alum. Employers are also encouraged to create an account and post opportunities for our students.
Current IU students are automatically assigned a Handshake account with their primary IU email address. It is not necessary to request an account because all enrolled students will be granted access automatically.
To begin, go to the login page and enter your IU credentials to gain access to Handshake.
Note: Handshake is only available to students who are enrolled in classes. Before attempting to log in, please wait at least 24 hours after enrolling.
IU graduates are eligible to join and use Handshake. To gain access to this resource, you must first complete a brief online survey.
Please provide as much information and be as accurate as possible so that we can confirm your IU alumni status. You will be notified of your Handshake account details once we have confirmed your degree.
You must provide a valid, personal email address. Your previous IU email address cannot be used to access Handshake because that account has been deactivated.
After you've created an employer account, posting opportunities to Handshake is simple. To begin, go to the new employer registration page, enter your email address and desired password, and then click Sign Up.
The next step is to connect your profile to your company by entering your work email address. Visit this page on Handshake's Help Center to learn more about best practices, creating a profile, and confirming your email address, as well as other resources.
Take advantage of all the services that are available to you. Attend conferences and apply for travel grants. Get a work-study job. Take a class that seems really fascinating to you even if it might not directly relate to your area of focus. Stay connected.
