The 15-credit hour Art History minor is for those looking to complement a major by studying art in its cultural contexts. Through the study of art history, you also develop skills in visual analysis, critical thinking, research, and writing. You learn to see history through the lens of art, and art from a range of historical, contextual, and theoretical perspectives.

100-level introductory courses
Six credits required. These courses are recommended prerequisites for upper level elective courses.

Upper level elective courses
Nine credits required. Six upper level elective credits must be taken at Herron. Path of study must include courses in at least two historical periods or subject categories. At least one 400-level course is recommended.
