Herron's 20-credit-hour Music minor is designed to allow IU Indianapolis students to develop a body of knowledge in music theory and experience in live performance as a valuable complement to their major program.
Students in all IU Indianapolis majors are eligible to pursue a Music minor at Herron. Students must submit an application for the Music minor. No audition is required.
Students interested in pursuing this minor must submit an online application stating their intent before enrolling in any courses. If you have already completed one of the courses listed below, you may be able to meet the minor requirement once you officially declare the minor.
A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 is required for courses used to fulfill the Music minor requirements. A minimum of 10 credit hours must be taken at IU Indianapolis.
Not all courses are regularly offered. Students are encouraged to consult with their academic advisor to better plan their studies.

Twelve credits are required. Any music course will count for the electives, including private lessons and ensembles.
