Community engagement in central Indiana

At Herron, we practice what we believe: that art and design can solve problems, build communities, and improve lives.

We have a history of promoting a collaborative culture not only in the classroom but across IU Indianapolis and the surrounding region. On campus, Herron faculty and students engage in interdisciplinary activities and shared research with their academic peers. They also bring imaginative ideas and solutions to life through the Basile Center, a civic engagement initiative with more than 120 clients and community partners.

Our Community Learning Programs have fostered the creative talents of local youth and teens through public classes, workshops, and camps for 125 years, and our Continuing Studies Program is a popular option for lifelong learners.
