Certificate in Pre-Art Therapy

Earn a pre-art therapy certificate

Completing this 33-credit hour certificate in addition to your bachelor's degree prepares you to apply for graduate programs in art therapy in pursuit of a career as an art therapist. This certificate's courses provide foundational knowledge for professional practice in art therapy and have traditionally been used as prerequisites for admission to many graduate programs in art therapy.

The Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB) requires a master's degree and post-graduate clinical experience for registered art therapists.

Requirements

  • HER-T 200 Intro to Art Therapy (3 credits)
  • Studio art coursework (18 credits)
  • Psychology coursework (12 credits)
    • PSY-B 110 Introduction to Psychology (3 credits)
