About

Dr. McCullough received her Ph.D. from Indiana University in Higher Education, concentrating in educational psychology and learning science. Her academic background is in social-cognitive psychology and this paradigm is the focus of her research revolving around gender and racial disparities in higher education, student leadership and identity development, and mentoring. She currently serves as Herron’s Assistant Dean of Admissions and Student Affairs, providing strategic leadership for the successful design, development, assessment, and implementation of enrollment management functions. She is responsible for determining priorities and initiatives for undergraduate and graduate students including admission and orientation to the school, academic progress, behavioral conduct, academic and career advising, First-Year Experience programming, curriculum development, co-curricular initiatives, retention efforts, and degree conferrals. Dr. McCullough also holds an adjunct faculty role in the Art Therapy graduate program, teaching human development theory, serving on the program advisory board, and mentoring students on their research practice.

Dr. McCullough has been on the IUPUI campus since 1999, going from the role of undergraduate student to dean. She is awarded one of the 50 Faces of IUPUI, acknowledging her longtime, multi-faceted service to the campus, influence on student success, and her mark on IU history as a member of the largest graduating class of female PhD students of color in the School of Education, including the establishment of a scholarship in their name for incoming doctoral students.
