Associate ProfessorVisual Communication Design
Professor Differding was appointed to the Visual Communication faculty in 1985. Prior to teaching, Differding was a senior art director at the Design Group Inc., Indianapolis. At Herron she oversees Professional Design Practice where students learn by solving real world communication design problems in partnership with community clients. Paula has been recognized for her work with community partnerships through awards and grant funding. She received an Outstanding Civic Engagement Award from the university and has received over $28,000 of grant funding from the IUPUI Solution Center in support or her students’ graphic design work for non-profit organizations. Additionally, Paula oversees the department’s internship program and teaches courses in print production, junior level studio design.
Paula was graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. degree (1976) in Communication and from Herron School of Art, Indiana University with a B.F.A. degree (1979) in Visual Communication.
