A Lot of Sorrow is a six-hour, single-channel video by Ragnar Kjartansson of a performance at MoMA PS1 by the indie-rock band The National. For this video, Kjartansson asked The National to play their three-minute, twenty-five second hit song “Sorrow” live on stage, repeatedly and continuously, for over six hours.

A car bomb exploded in 2007 in the historic intellectual center of Baghdad, al-Mutanabbi Street. More than 130 people died or were wounded, but the place escaped geographic bounds to become a global movement for the free exchange of ideas. The exhibition included a rare collection of artist's books and broadsides that continue to be generated as an outpouring of solidarity with the people of Iraq.
