Get creative at Herron this spring

Spring art camps and teen classes are designed for a range of ages and aptitudes. Spring programs for youth meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Teen classes meet for half- or full-day sessions.

Spring Art Studio

Welcome the change in weather with an exciting and creative week of art-making. During this studio art studio, campers will be immersed in visual art as they get their hands on paint, clay, and other media while exploring ways to talk and think about art and learning how to installt their very own art show.

Drawing Intensive: Exploring the Basics

Designed for the teen who can't get enough drawing, this half-day intensive focuses on exploring drawing and building new skills. Students will spend the morning drawing, utilizing graphite, charcoal, and mixed media. Students who wish to engage further may enroll in the afternoon illustration intensive. Receive a $50 discount when you sign up for both morning and afternoon classes.

Illustration Intensive: Engaging with Techniques

In this afternoon intensive, students will engage with drawing techniques using dry media, paint, and digital rendering software and Wacom tablets. Paired with the morning drawing intensive, this class will create a strong foundation for the budding illustrator's path as an artist. Receive a $50 discount when you sign up for both morning and afternoon intensives.

Pre-College Spring Preview

Juniors, seniors, and college-bound graduates who are unable to attend this summer's two-week pre-college program may join us for a week-long afternoon studio course this spring. Modeled after the Herron Pre-College program, this class focuses on college-level foundations studies. Students will gain unparralleled experience as they explore media in Herron's studios and create to begin or build on their existing portfolio.
