Artist workshops

Herron’s artist workshops and seminars are designed for adults who are interested in furthering their knowledge in studio practices and new technology for art and design.

Offerings include non-degree and credit bearing programs that range from single three-hour sessions to full-day or two-day intensive workshops.

Summer Session 1

Encaustic Wax Methods with Carolyn Springer

The fundamentals of encaustic techniques of painting, collage, and mono printing will include fusing beeswax, pigment sticks, and pigmented wax to create multi-layered works of art.

Students will become knowledgeable in the use of digital imagery, color theory, and transparency/opacity as applied to the properties of encaustic mediums.

This workshop is cross-listed for credit or non-credit enrollment. PGP Points pending. Student is responsible for purchasing all materials required.

3-credit course (tuition plus lab fees apply)
