Jessica Uçul is an American photo-based artist best known for her sociological and autobiographical works that celebrate and examine cultural identity. Specifically, her interest lies in the symbolic representations of family, romance, marriage, and sexuality.
Uçul received her M.F.A. in Fine Art from the School of Visual Arts in New York, NY where she studied under Thomas Lanigan-Schmidt, Fred Wilson, Alix Pearlstein, and Julianne Swartz. Uçul splits her time between New York City and Indianapolis where she teaches at Herron School of Art and Design.
